how many software is there?

I know there is a lot of different types of forum software out there to choose from to make a forum, but how many different forum software is out there to use?

True not many,but I haven't tested every single one yet lol.. I am really wanting to try a java based one soon.

Well if they have a slow internet any forum can be slow . Ofcourse java itself is known to be slow.
