Well in my experience it wasn't that difficult for me, it was pretty easy for me. I find running a forum in the webmaster niche very time consuming and challenging, but I enjoy it that's why it isn't a problem. I still feel bad for closing PlanetGamers though, I really loved that forum but since I lost interest in gaming there was no point to leave it open.

I had a forum a few years ago that I ran, was doing really well, regular daily posts and members and when I had my 3rd child I had to close it due to not having enough time to be on.

I was pretty close to closing a forum I have been running for a few years now but I have since changed my mind and decided to start a clean slate and see how it goes.

Why didn't you try to sell the community or give it to one of your staff members?

yeah I have. I kind of had to. My license had run out and I upgraded but I couldn't see myself using the old forum. So the upgrade happened.

@Kaiser saw me close a good forum due to inactivity; with google declining the .co.cc domains I had no choice but to close.

How come you didn't try to sell it to anyone? What was the forum about and such?

Call of duty forum and no point selling; 24 users and not much threads or posts (59 members in total including fake members ;))
