All forums have rules. Some have more strict rules than others. Some may have lots of rules. Others may have few. But they all have rules. And with rules comes trolls and other people who try to break them. Are there any rules on your forum, that if disobeyed, will cause the offender to be instantly ban?

There are two rules on my forum that will both result in an instant ban. These are:
    No spam
    One account per user
Spam is just annoying, and a user only needs one account to live their life. So, instant bans on these rules are reasonable; are they not?

The only instant ban I tend to thoroughly enforce is the spam one, and maybe the multiple account one, other than that I usually enforce a three strikes and your out rule

I will definitely hand out Instant Bans if someone Spams, and/or Trolls (Depending on the severity of it). By the way if any members haven't read our rules yet, you probably should ;)

Banning a real human member should always be the last resort. I am saying "real human" because there are bots who are making accounts and posting spams -- those bots should be banned automatically with no explanation whatsoever.

but how do you distinguish between what is a bot doing it, and what is a human doing it?

Yea sometimes it can be hard, but if its complete spam, than its an instant ban whether they are human or not.

An instant ban is typically if someone does 1 of 2 things
    • Post someone's personal information
    • Post child polarography
These two will not only get you banned, but also reported to the authorities. Everything else comes with a warning. But that's because we're an uncensored community and everything else is basically allowed.

    Our only rules are simple...

We do not allow illegal content.
    We do not allow spam
We do not allow hard-core pornography (soft-core is allowed)
    * We do not allow personal attacks.
    * We define a personal attack as direct comments to a member or a comment isolating a single member in the forum of threats of harm, discrimination of race, or discrimination of sexuality. Disagreement over what constitutes as race or sexual orientation in a discussion does not count as legitimate personal attack.
