Hey all! Welcome to the new look...

Howdy human slime,

We now have our new look up by default. If you have screaming bandwidth and you wish to continue to use the old heavy design feel free. Just select it inside of your UserCP under options or simply scroll to the bottom of ANY page and activate the pulldown skin chooser to change the look at any time to suit you...

We are reworking all code from scratch, so give us a little time to get all the different areas of the site back online.. Places like the gallery, arcade, portal, chat, etc. are currently offline but will be up shortly.

Let us know if you have any suggestions to make things better, or if you encounter any nasty bugs!

Yeah, took a bit of work. Glad it all came together.

We'll also be doing a fresh set of icons throughout the whole site, that's going to look really good...

 

so far i like parts and dislike parts...... definately pleasing on the eyes though

It feels sort of cleaner and happier, and kind of sterile? But that's just me.

i'm digging the new look, very clean-looking.

 

I already switched back to the Dark Invasion style.
If nothing else, the choice is a great option.

 

I like it a lot, although it could use just a bit more wookie, but thats just me

 

The only thing, thus far, that I've noticed that I don't like is the resolution. My computer at work is 800x600 (yes, I *know*), so things go off the side. Sterile or not, I like it.

 

Originally this forum layout was designed at about 850px in width. The header picture alone is 826px, so the only way to make it fitting for 800x600 resolutions is to remove certain elements from the header. Although I personally won't mind it that much, it's up to Alien

Nice work. So far it seems slick, albiet a bit 'sterile'. I'll continue to use it to give some better feedback on it.

So far what seems odd/out-of-place is the online/offline icons for the users, basically how they don't seem to blend with the msg gradients. Also perhaps the status icons for the forums [forum_new.gif / cat_icon.gif] etc... They probably just require a slight readjustment period to get to know wtf they mean.

 

Yeah, all icons are going byebye and being replaced (as well as most icons in the threads actually getting better placement I mostly just have them dumped at default right now) and some more contrasting darker blues are being put in on most of the pages to give it more pop without increasing loadtime...

Thanks for the feedback, BRiT. Some staff members here could certainly learn by your example.

 

I do dig the quote/edit/reply buttons inside the individial msgs. I like how the "new reply" / "new thread" buttons look, but they may feel more integrated with a background color from the blue-family. With the red, they seem to be screaming out for attention.

 

just a bug:the gallery is "not found"and what is up with the arcade???its all disabled . oh but of corse Alien has a few championships

 

i think the current edit, quote, reply looks beautiful with this style...

and red barron they are currently being reworked into the new design...

 

The sterile look is nice for an aspect (if inverted). I switched values and inverted my screens and wow what a great look for posting at night instead of a bright screen staring at me. Inverted view of Dark Invasion wasn't so great looking in the past so I always had to be in the light to use that style.
