Who is good with SEO and IPB 3.1.3?

If there is anyone out there good with SEO and IPB 3.1.3, I could use some help on my forum.

I'm pretty good with IPB.. But what do you really need help in..?

 

I thought the IPB 3 series already had seo built in?

 

You might want to get the sitemap generator from Dan. Other than that, what kinds of help do you need?

Sorry for the late response, It's been a busy week.
As you know, I'm on IP.Board 3.1.3. I also use Unreal portal, (very cool).
I have redirected my domain to the portal hence the address looks like this: /index.php?app=uportal
How can I get this changed to just my .com?
Also, I would like to have a site map generator, but I have no idea what to do there.

Find this in initdata.php.

Replace forums with uportal.

 

Thats what I had to do to be able to see the portal.

 

That's supposed to do it. I thought Unreal had instructions that told you to use them.

Mind you, I haven't used them in the IPB 3 series (I had them for a certain time in 2.3), and when I was with them in 2.3, a lot of pages that weren't the portal were redirecting there.

 

IP.Board is already SEO friendly when you first install it. You just have to make some minor changes I think this would be a nice blog post for me to write as a tutorial for the changes. But it's basically just pretty permalinks and redirects.

 

if you need help with SEO stuff, IPB just released a new free mod that greatly helps. you should be able to find it in their marketplace.
