My friends are off to college now (as am I) and we thought it'd be cool to set up a forum to keep in contact on. I currently run Vbulletin 2.3.2 on my car website (http://www.exoticcarforums.com)- but don't want to pay for another set of forums...

    So my question:

What is the best free forum software?

Can anyone help me set it up on my server- in exhange for free advertising on my 2,000,000+ hits car website.

I dont know how to install it, but PHPbb is pretty popular. I am sure that it is easy to install though, something you could do yourself.

I ended up using the "Invision Power Board" and it's great! It's extremely simple to use as well as very professional looking. Check it out:

(please don't sign up, for kids from my town only (as of now)
