Another Alien Soup Rip Off

Gotta love them.

 

I've spoken with them, and they have now removed the design without further action on my part.

What exactly did they do?

 

They used our design (even with our name and copyright). They said that since someone was giving it away (their are rippers out there who just like to copy your stuff, cut it all up and distribute it on pirate sites) that they thought it was okay to use it.. <sigh>

There are 2-3 sites that I know of that distribute this type of stuff, however taking care of it doesn't always prove fruitful since they're in countries where we may not have specific treaties with.

However once a site attempts to use it, we make an attempt to stop that and explain the situation of course. Depending on how that goes we determine if legal action is appropriate.

Anyone with a legitimate and popular public site would never use our design as we're well known in vBulletin circles, so it's just a few trouble makers.

 

If it was for vb3 i know who ripped/converted it.

 

Yeah, the last guy had it for vB3. There is a version of each going around...

 

There are some messed up people on this planet. They know they'll get caught, so what's the purpose of trying to rip?

 

Those Bastards . . .They killed kenny and all that **** . . . and now they are going to rot in hell for attempting to steal the soup . . . or something like that anyway . . . either way it does seem stupid to use someone else's work like that, espicaly when they should know that they will get busted

Urg... Now he's using (read: ripping) aspects of my design.

Amazing - I've had several people ripping my site before it's even launched.

Oh, and Alien: Can you send me the contact information for the board that ripped your style? I'd like to ask them to remove my copyrighted images. Thanks!

 

Someone should consider contacting his webhost and having his site shut down, if not I will do it for you and get ahold of them.
