Isn't it annoying when the forum owner's user name is just "Admin"?

yup, that's why I switched from emuXzone to Ashley.S. a while ago. I only use emuXzone at sites where I need to get contents but don't want my name or newer emails used.

I agree, I feel like the admin really doesn't care about the forum subject or community. It's like they're detached from the community and just trying to make some money.

Next time I need to join a forum where the admin is "Admin", I will call myself "Member".

Yeah, now that I know a little bit about foruming than I used to, I can almost agree with that. Although when I came out with my first forum though, which was on Forumotion, I left it as the default username of Admin because I didn't know that you can sign up with your own username just like you can when signing up to someone else's site. So if it's a case of someone not realizing that you can sign up with any username you like, just like a member can, then I'll definitely accept that reasoning as I have been in that administrators' shoes before. Not knowing that you can sign up with any name you liked.

Doesn't seem to have bothered the 16,000 members of my cycling forum ... ... and the 1.6 million posts they've made!! :)

And for those who say they wouldn't register at a forum with an "Admin" user - are you all serious? Really? That's so sad ... you could be missing out on a great community and all for the sake of a name? Mad.

    Cheers,
    Shaun :D
    (Admin ... lol)

I agree - I like the community that's more personal - either having your real name as your username, or an alias that you go by - it makes the community have a more like family atmosphere.

Yea I agree, I never saw the point in just leaving the username "admin", I like to use my last name.
