    Haha I agree, we all have been in that situation where we keep refreshing and still not sure if its us or the site.

    This has really helped me a lot since I started my first forum. There were times that I couldn't access my own site (somehow the server blocked my IP, the owner, go figure) and this saved me some headache. :p

    That use to happen to me when I was on freehosting like 000webshost.. its very annoying.

    I use this site all the time for one site I visit often that has lots of downtime.

    This is a very handy url to know, there are a couple others out there that do the same.
    I've used this a number of times to see if a site was up or if my firewall was blocking it.

    I love using this. :-) It's fast, and reluctant. But if I'm ever in the mood, I'll just use the old handy dandy start -> cmd -> "ping www.websitename.com" and if I get a reply then I'll know it's up. I'm not sure if you can rely on it though.

    Oh how i remember using this. Was quite useful back in the day, and especially where i live with buggy internet.. its quite essential.
    Btw did you guys know you can do this to ping your site? Yeah.. ;)

    This is great, I have used this quite a few times as I live in the country side and certain parts of my house gets bad internet connection.
