A throne. And you're bowing to me.
Something I just felt to get off my chest.

    ADMINS AREN'T INSTANTLY BAD BECAUSE THEY'RE 13 OR 12.

It's just a tendency. Kiddies can run very successful forums, I know one who ran a forum which got over one and a half million posts (Though early 2009 he had to quit so he could focus on the main site and real life).

I don't have a problem with younger people running forums as long as the content is appropriate for them e.g. a gaming forum, and that they run it professionally e.g. no foul language, bad attitudes, etc.

I suppose it's all about manners then. I don't see anything wrong with it. Young people need to lead us more. Delvops leadership for them in the future.

I think a lot of it does boil down to manners and what sort of attitude the owner has. Like if it's a gaming forum, and the administrator really has fun with his site, is friendly towards staff and members alike, and really enjoys the subject his forum is about, then I'll have no problem posting under the influence of an administrator younger than me. However, if they have a bad attitude, come out with super-strict rules that don't have anything to do with the subject at hand, then I wouldn't dream of joining, or even if I did, I wouldn't consider being a member there for very long, anyway.

Age counts tbh in the UK, hackers can be aged 11-13 when reaching the age of 16/17 then you can start to trust them

I remember being a member of a forum where the owner was......12. No joke. He had great manners and was discussing very mature subjects. It's all about how you conduct yourself. Stereotypical 12 can not be forum owners though not everyone is stereotypical.

Wow, that's pretty impressive for that age! If I were on that forum, I would swear that place was ran by an adult! What site was this and is it still open?

Movie...something I forget the name. I think the member joined here as well to promote it. "Jack" was he's username. The whole time I thought was a 18 year old or something. I was shocked.

Somehow I don't seem to recall anyone with that username, but my memory sucks at the best of times, so it's no biggie. Yeah, I'd be surprised too, though! Someone only twelve and yet he's able to carry on an adult conversation in a mature manner? That is kind of shocking.

I don't undestand though. It says he's 20 yet when I talked to him he said he was 12 or was that another admin at he's forum? I think that may have been the case. Anyway here's he's forum it's not up anymore though.

Age had nothing to do with it, it is done to how the Admin behaves
I am a mod on a forum where the Admin is 14 and so far he is doing a good job

My problem is been told I am too old to run a forum

Aw no way. Age brings wisdom and I for one would love to have members older then me. I'd pick up subtle things about them and tips on how to better myself as admin and as a human being.

One is never too old to run a forum. The backstreet boys site I'm a member of that I no longer frequent because of spam, that was run by one of the singers' dads... not sure how old he is, and then he has a co-administrator who's still only about 50 yet. So you're never too old to run or post on forums.

I would say the age of the admin shouldn't matter, but thier maturity should. Thats what determines if he or she can run a website appropriately

I am a "younger" admin but I like to keep my age and information out of the public eye. As an administrator, I will do my best to work one on one with my members if they ever need anything. I will be their friend too if they find me likable and if I find them likable. However, I usually do not let them come very deep into my personal life. I keep a very strict policy of keeping my personal life and my "professional" life separate so that there is always balance in my community. The members that I have told my age to cannot believe that I am not even in my mid-twenties.

As long as the administrator is mature, I wouldn't mind being part of their community or staff. Age shouldn't restrict what they do with their forum or website, although I would be a tad worried if a 13 year old administrator ran one of the leading pornographic websites.

One thing I've learned is that maturity and age... are completely separate things.

    Wouldn't we all?

Yep maturity is what I go for, as age is just a number. Trust me there are 40 year old immature people out there without anything better to do than troll, and other things,

Frankly, one is never too old to run anything. And as for young kids. Well, why not let them get a good start now? It would bring them knowledge they could later use in life that they learned at that young age. As we all do gotta start somewhere.
