vBulletin's Style Update

Well, since the last time I checked, the vB.com style has been changed... and I honestly think it's for the better.

Before, it was dull and so unattractive. I honestly couldn't stand to use the site because the style was so ugly.

But now it has more liveliness, contrast and color. I'm starting to like it more.

What do you guys think about it now? :shrug:

 

I think it honestly looks a right mess now with those huge images which would look a lot better smaller, the status icons are just as horrendous IMO and the RSS icons are all over the shop.

EDIT: They appear to have some layout problems right now with the threads and posts bit.

 

I'm just glad they are working on it.

 

Dude, it has a huge gap on the right side, and it has many bugs.

 

You're missing my point. The colors and images that have changed are indeed an improvement (in my opinion, that is). Forget the bugs; that's not what I'm talking about...

 

Even I concur on this. I would not have gone and looked had you not said something.

I do like the improved contrast. Previously, I had commented on the color separation of posts in a thread. Reads better to me at least.

How about you log the changes with SSs on a daily basis?

Yes, they are screwing things up big time, but let's give credit where it's due, shall we?

 

Idk if others knew this already, but did you catch the Right to Left Test choice from the drop down at the bottom?

It's been there since as long as I can remember. Way before 4.0.

 

I think it looks better than it did before and hopefully they'll continue working on it so that it will really pop.

It's good to see that they are listening to input.

 

Glad to see it really is a work in progress like they said, it still has a loooooong way to go though.

It doesn't display nearly correct in Chrome, its a total disaster in that browser however I expect them to fix it...hopefully.

They're working on it. However it appears perfect to staff in Chrome and Safari. Opera has some issues. We're not sure why it appears different to staff than others. Only difference in the layout is we have a few extra forums on ForumHome. Have to log out to see the issues actually.

The issues also don't appear on our test site with the same style, whether logged in or out.

 

That is strange, its also only on forumhome that I've noticed, so its apparently something out that way :shrug:

I would have never noticed myself, but I was at work where I use chrome, and noticed it, and some other oddities that weren't apparent when I got home.

 

I use Chrome (3.0.195) and the forumhome is messed up. Not sure what vers the devs are on.

 

Yeah new updated style looks better indeed..

yeah this is the kind of nightmare I had with CSS + wordpress as to how it gets rendered in different browsers for folks. Fix was easy for me for wordpress, just dump the wordpress style I was using and use a different style which rendered perfectly in all browsers.

Hopefully, vB design folks eventually figure it out

 

I actually like it better before the latest changes.

 

I haven't been there in a few days, but it looks like they are making improvements.

Looks like they replaced the smilies, too. It's about time! I don't love the current ones, but they are a huuuuge improvement.

 

They are the famfam silk icons with a bit of work. x.x

Shelley should be making those smileys, she pwns.
