I'm thinking about switching from vBulletin to IPB, should I? I have some questions such as Does IPB come stock with friendly URL option like vBulletin does? How do you install mods in IPB and is it time consuming? Thanks,
Yes they have friendly URL's Same way you do in vBulletin most the time. The mods I've installed were similar to vbulletin. You download the mod, you upload the mod, you activate it, set any options. That's of course generally how it goes, some maybe different.
This site was converted from vbulletin shortly after I bought it. I would highly recommend IPB. IPB is right now the best you can find and it keeps getting better.
I haven't used vBulletin 4 since very early on, like 4.0.1 or .0.2. But yes I would, IPB is awesome, and like AWS says, it keeps getting better.
A more robust product that when a new version is released it actually works is bug free. It's less on resources. It works as expected.
Have you decided? I always find that if you compare all the features your website needs/wants to that of the feature lists and the stability of ongoing development with all platforms, you will find the answer becomes easier to decide. Whatever works best for you, your end-users, and the future of your website...
I just recently switched from Vbulletin 4 to IPB and am definitely not regretting it. I'll never touch Vbulletin again.
I've just moved 1 site from VB to IPB, another to xenforo and am about to move more to IPB. VB is no longer an option for me.
