Do you have a category for announcements, feedback, and other things related to your website/forum? If so, do you put it above or below the other forums? Do you put your introduction forum here?

    Above forums and yes

this might sound silly, but when i've joined forums that have the intros at the bottom, the thought crosses my mind that it doesn't seem important to bother to say hi or that the site doesn't think its that important.

    just my opinion though

This is the first forum that I haven't used the
format. I like it better the way it is on AA, just for AA. Otherwise I always keep the three in one category at the top of the forum.

All of this is at the top of my forums. The "Announcements" section is hidden from guests, but the other two are shown. :)

... is the setup I have, even on my designs site. I want my members/clients to know that they're important to me, and it gives a bit more of a community 'feel', rather than just a place to d/l a free style or request a custom one.

Many of my clients jump in and welcome new members, and answer questions, as well, so it works out good.

On both sites, at the very top.

I do have a forum for announcements and events, but it isn't limited to just forum stuff; I let the members use it also to do their bragging.

    Indeed, I do.

I've always placed such a category at the very top of the forum index page. In my eyes, placing it at the very bottom (or, near the bottom) of the index page would make absolutely no sense whatsoever. When guests and/or members visit and/or log in, this is the first category that I want them to run across.

As for the introductions forum, I place that in the "off-topic" section - which is located at the bottom of the index page.
