Server Move: Complete!

Hello,

As many of you know, the community was down for about an hour or so (a bit longer) earlier in the afternoon. During the migration over to one of our new dedicated servers, a few glitches were seen and reported to me instantly. For those of you who took the initiative to make me aware of these small (and one major) quirks, I appreciate it.

You should notice a tremendous difference in the overall performance of this community. The specifications of our primary server are as follows:

• Intel Core i7 920 (2.66 GHz 8MB L3 Cache)
• 6GB DDR3 SDRAM
• 500GB 7.2 RPM SATAII 16MB Cache (Primary HDD)
• 250 GB 7.2 RPM SATAII 16MB Cache (Secondary HDD)
• 1000Mbs Public + Private

Please let me know if you encounter any sort of issues and/or errors as you are browsing.

 

Seemed like it was down longer for me, I got the new apache server installation error page, the site not responding page, and it only came back just now. But glad everything's now sorted.

 

It's taking a bit longer to entirely propagate for some. Glad to hear that it's accessible - let me know if you run into anything fishy.

 

Back now....somethings have to happen for the good of a forum....but in the middle of the day chris...:lol well evening here)...

 

I do apologize for that - I must have disrupted the "daily AA fix".

 

YES!! indeed...we need our AA fix...

 

You should be set now. There are still a few quirks here and there, but I'm ironing them out.

Thanks, Ben. I'm still in the process of making sure everything is correctly resolving as I've received a few e-mails from members in regards to some pages not propagating.

All I can say is that I am amazed at how fast the site has become. I'm zipping right through, and lovin' it!

 

I would just like to let everyone know that due to the installation of a few updated network drivers, a reboot of the server will be performed within the next hour and a short amount of downtime is expected.
