Lately I've been really bored of being online. But I'd still like a small website that I can make a bit of money from (or at least enough to cover the website cost). I sold my vBulletin stuff (well, I will soon), so I'm thinking of blogging. I tried a normal blog, where I just blog about whatever comes into my mind, but that was a huge failure, and extremely boring. Now I'm thinking of like review blogging, where I review new or old products (such as iPad, Computers, Brands, Clothing.. etc.), and also have a small forum where people can discuss my reviews (my reviews will be on Wordpress), and they can also review things, or ask me to review something in particular. If they do a good review in the forum, maybe I can even copy and paste it to the blog, and just give them credit for it. Any chance that this could be a success? I've heard of people reviewing phones and stuff, and he gets free phones from major companies to review. So it must be a big hit, is it not?
I have actually heard of this. My friend runs: Netbook Reviews | Netbook News, Deals & Reviews and Notebook Reviews - Reviews of Notebooks and Laptops He makes bank from it.
Makes bank means he makes a lot of money from it? So in other words, it is a good idea? I'd have separate categories too, maybe like: - Computer Reviews - Software Reviews - Pet Reviews - Sports Reviews - Product Reviews - Phone Reviews - Other Reviews etc... Think I should do it? I'm very knowledgeable in all of these fields. I just need a clever domain name.
He makes several thousand a month I believe. As for reviews, from what I read (on how to make money blogs), go into a specific niche. The ones you name are broad and you won't compete with sites like CNET and such. Like I said with the netbooks and notebooks reviews, they are very specific, so it isn't crazy to take care of. Your choice though. It depends on how much blogging you want to do.
Ah, thanks a lot! My final decision is just to sell my domain and hosting though. I'm getting quite bored of the internet, and could use a new pair of skis. If anyone's interested in a brand new 5th generation (blue) 16GB iPod, please shoot me a PM.
