    To be honest, it doesn't look very appealing.

    Horrible template and logo with a massive advert in your face and no visible posts/sections. Not ideal to convince someone to join. Not trying to be rude and I wish you luck with it, just saying; perhaps you should reconsider the actual main page... You want it to be as appealing as possible.
