What kind of tricks are you looking for? What exactly are you trying to achieve?

    My recommendations are:

    • Get some backlinks
    • Produce fresh and frequent content
    • Submit a sitemap in Google's Webmaster Tools console

Thanks for tips. I have SMF based forum. Google has indexed only profile pages of the forum. I want my complete forum well indexed by Google. I am looking for tips on this issue

    definitely do the sitemap then

you can also do this until you have your sitemap:

    Add your URL to Google

Yep, a sitemap is definitely the best place to start in this case. Submitting a sitemap essentially provides a list of URLs for Google to crawl and index. Depending on what kind of generator you use, you can give "weight of importance" to different URLs. For example, thread URLs should hold more weight than profile URLs (because threads are more important -- in terms of content -- than profiles).

I'm not sure if SMF has a sitemap generator add-on, but if you create a thread in the Forum Software section with the "SMF" prefix and ask, I'm sure some of our SMF users will be glad to help. :)

Another handy tip is to create your own HTML sitemap page and put a link to it in the Navbar and also the Footer, this way google will follow the link to your sitemap page then read all the links that are on it.

That's true, but what difference does it make if you submit a sitemap through Google Webmaster Tools anyways?

Usually sitemaps like you mentioned are for human visitors -- for ease of navigation, namely on large sites.
