Have you ever used Facebook advertising to promote your site? I mean using Facebook's PPC program: Advertising | Facebook If so, what were the results? Were you pleased, and would you do it again?
Nick I am currently looking into this as I prepare to launch my forum. The process seems easy enough, but that's part of what makes me hesitant. When it's easy I question the success rate. That being said, I too would be interested to hear if anybody has had any experience with Facebook advertising. Thanks for introducing the topic! RR
I did not know that face book offered an advertising program. I need to talk to my wife and see if she wants to do that for her forum.
I tried it (before my website was hacked) and was beginning to get good registrations etc and then I was hacked and it all fell to pieces - I have been concentrating on rebuilding my forums rather than look into this again but once I am happy where we are again I may re-look into it. I do think it s worth it from what i saw and experienced though.
Thanks for the insight, Merk. Most of what I have read is good feedback about Facebook's advertising program. Most people seem to have had fairly decent results. I just wonder if it's better or more effective than AdSense is. I'm really interested in trying it out.
I was pleased with the results, but not with Facebook themselves. After advertising for close to a month on facebook, I got a bill, which was supposed to be paid through my paypal Virtual Card. No problem, I know the card's good, so I let it go. Within 24 hours of it supposedly being 'billed', I get a notification saying they couldn't bill the card. Well, I logged in, tried another virtual card, same results, though this time I see that facebook actually did get through to the card, because they took the usual $1 verification auth out. Trying to contact someone about this problem is an utter mess. I got the typical form response, which shows they just don't care about their customers. I love facebook, I love the fact that they can be used for advertising (it actually does work), but I'm not about to give them, or anyone else a real credit card number . This is why virtual cards like this are important, for security and privacy.
I get coupons for this all the time. I always wondered how this worked out myself! Great question haha
No idea? Guess from some webmaster thing I have signed up to over the years? It is usually a coupon for $25...I get them I think every other month.
