We're currently on vBulletin 4.2.2 - I bought a xenForo license last week, and I'm really enjoying it! I've been working on styling a similar theme. I still have a lot of work to do, but I'm wondering which one you prefer from a stylistic perspective? vBulletin: https://www.psychopathfree.com xenForo: https://www.psychopathfree.com/xf Threads also look a bit different, although I've tried to include a similar separator block on xF, for our vision-challenged members: vBulletin: https://www.psychopathfree.com/showthread.php?2233-Share-Something-Good-that-Happened-Today xenForo: https://www.psychopathfree.com/xf/index.php?threads/share-something-good-that-happened-today.1905/ Do they look similar enough that it wouldn't confuse an existing user to make the jump? I'll be opening it up to our community for testing within a few weeks, but I wanted to get some feedback from other site administrators first. I have to say, xF looks a lot cleaner to me, and I love responsive design!! Our mobile theme finally looks good. And it's so speedy, using way fewer queries. Thanks!
The more the same, the better. I want to make sure that style is not at all a factor in whether or not adoption is a success. Thanks guys!
For what it's worth, XF looks nicer. The 'theme' is very similar between the two so I doubt you'll have any confusion.
Vbulletin is hands down the better forum software but in this case Xenforo looks better. This surprises me since im not much of a fan of Xenforo in the first place.
As a former vBulletin 4 forum owner, Xenforo now takes the cake. It's a lot faster and uses less performance. My communities' traffic has also gone up since the move. Activity is also doing well, so no, I can't cosign this statement. Xeneforo url's are also prettier and are better than vBulletin's search engine friendly urls.
