Do you have links to any info on it, I'll be honest, I haven't looked at mybb in years.

I haven't heard of this either, I have used myBB for all of my forums though, I hope this is a step in the right direction.

MyBB 2.0 looks pretty awesome actually. Certainly brings up the software into the modern age which is really where the free software market needs to be hitting currently as none of them do it.

I've only just installed my 1.6 - I hope the upgrade will be easy.

Do you think it will add a great deal more functionality - I have read the feature list but a lot of it is jargon to me.

Mybb is still working on 1.8 and they have said (Can't remember where) that 2.0 is years away. So no worries Simon you are all good.

This is the funny fact about MyBB, I remember to have heard about the development of version 2.0 since the release of version 1.4 and looking forward to upgrade to this version.

Eventually with version 1.6 I closed my cycle using this forum software and moved on to find new alternatives.

It's amazing that they still keep updating about the upcoming version 2.0 but there is not yet a release date after so many years.

That's because they haven't even started coding it yet.

Then, why they announced the release with so many years in anticipation?

Obviously all developers aim to upgrade their work, but announcement comes when the project is already on the works.

I don't have too much of an opinion on it until I can see it for myself, though my expectations and hopes are high for MyBB 2, hopefully it really gives MyBB a new name :P

Some of the plans for it are good, but it will not appeal to every one, one thing they are thinking about is using mark up instead of BBcode, yeah like everyone will want to do that !
