Does anyone know of a working xenforo to xenforo import script, or a way around it ..etc.. using another forum script as a middle man?

I have a forum in mind that I'd like to merge with one of my xenforo installs, but I don't see an easy way to do it.

I see naatan was talking about one on xenforo.com here, but I haven't seen any progress on it lately.

    idk if any importers

but just use IPB 3 as the middleman.

merge both into ipb 3 and then convert it back to Xenforo. that's what my friend did.
A bit odd that they have all those converters but not a converter for their own software.

I wouldn't want to convert this forum to anything, wouldn't want to lose thread id's
But I could convert forum B to IPB then into xenforo I guess..
I don't have an ipb license though
Not yet, but I'm considering it, I want to make sure they can be merged before going further.

The XF to vBulletin importer on vB.org works great. You should check it out. There's a edit to one of the files listed on page 2 or 3 you'll need to do that edit in order to get the importer working. I converted almost 1/2 million posts with it.

If you need a hand with it lemme know.

So I think I have this figured out at least getting it to vBulletin.
I might as well let everyone know what I'm thinking about doing. :D

I'm going to merge general-forums.com over here.
During that move, I'm going to clear the site up, there are a lot of zero posters/old accounts, and some junk on the forums that I'm going to remove before bring it over.

We have some cool people over there, we like to talk about tech stuff and play thread games.
I'm going to figure out a way to still allow direct access to the thread games, but not flood our "new post" link, for those looking for admin help.

I have lot's of blogs over there and lots of media posted, I'm planning on getting that all imported over here or at least try.

Once it done, it should really give us the edge over any competitors. The more active users we have, the better we're off in the long run. Glad to hear the move is going good thus far. Your internet is holding up pretty good right?

    ya... it could be better..lol
I'm waiting for my host to wake up and copy the attachments over to my temp vb install.
I would be done by now and cleaning, but I had him move the wrong files last night. Thanks to @Dan Hutter for the help last night on Twitter.

It'll be a massive boost of content, we have about 300,000 post that will be moved over ;)

Maybe we could start claiming being the #1 admin forum :evillaugh: ...j/k

Does anyone know how syncing usernames would be handled?

Don't have clue. XF doesn't have a merge user feature.

The long way around would be to import everything into vBulletin and do the clean ups there O.o

    I think it does now?
There was an option when merging, and I know I had the staff at xf sync my name with a 2nd one I had made at one point.

Your right there is an option to merge during import..I don't think XF has a built in tool - I'd imagine they just ran a manual query to merge accounts.
