We are back once again folks.

    So long story short..

I upgraded the forum to 1.2 Wednesday night and ran into a small issue but it was getting late and I went to bed with the site offline. I fixed that Thursday after work and the site was up once again. I started messing around with the new editor and user banners after work Friday and started cleaning up the site a bit yesterday. Everything was fine and dandy after I cleaned up the DB some. I checked to see if I could post, everything looked good and I had plans last night so I assumed I could leave without the world falling apart. So I started getting a few texts last night that the site was down and it wouldn’t load from my phone. I got up this morning at 8:30 and started working on the site to figure out what was going on. After a couple hours of getting nowhere I decided to restore a backup from the other day. Also I had found out my host didn’t have backups enabled on my plan.. Well after finally getting a backup to work and upgrading the forums once again we are up and running for the world to see.

We lost a few post and a couple members but we are up and running. I’ll setup better backups for any issues we may run into in the future.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

    okay I'll check it out

somehow.. I don't know how, but the backup my host restored didn't have any of the settings in place.. like forum name, url or anything under the options tab.

Not sure exactly how they managed to do that, also there are a few things broken in the admin panel right now that did work fine the day the backup was from.

    It's a magic host I guess.

also something is very wrong here.. this is not normal

Tried searching this forum for word 'years' and gave me a white page error:

Fatal error: Class name must be a valid object or a string in /home/username/public_html/library/XenForo/Search/DataHandler/Abstract.php on line 291

changed username for privacy (should really have php errors display turned off and logged instead and regularly check the log for new entries ;))

I could host you on my VPS ;)

I have it well configured for xF...

Anyhow, glad you're back. When you've fixed the issues, upload a smaller logo and fix the mobile breadcrumbs :P

Only move host if they'll move you with zero downtime...

I have an idea of how to do that ;)

I can move my sites if needed, I just hate it because it's such a process.
This forum isn't the only one I host.

So the spam mod we use was updated today which I'll install tonight (hopefully if I get time)
If I can get the blog mod updated we'll be ready to roll in full force. :)

Wow @Brandon I love how you provide step by step what your doing with the forum and the programs you use. I'm sure it's a labor of love and a headache but I appreciate being able to see the real process behind creating a forum of this magnitude. I love the sleek design, the topics, the tutorials and the features you have up. Awesome forum.

We are running the 1.2 beta 3 now
I'm updating the spam mod now so no one should see any of those ugly post again.
I'm hoping I can get the blogs working again, other then that I'll be playing with the style a bit.

btw, does anyone care for the dashed look on the editor here? I had one person PM asking me what I was thinking..lol :adminpower:

I think I prefer the solid editor lines. The dashes are rather hard on the eyes.
