What is you favorite software to use when it comes to graphics/web design? I currently use Photoshop CS6 for all my designs and I find it great! Easy to navigate even with the intensive software design.

I'm not really a graphics designer, but I enjoy using The GIMP and Krita for image processing and painting/drawing. I recently got myself two GIMP books, b/c I'm dedicated to learn how to get the most out of that beast!

I've always used Photoshop (CS3, CS4 or CS5) for any images that need to be done. As for coding, I usually do it from scratch, so Notepad and sometimes Notepad++ is enough.

I use GIMP, Photoshop CS3, Inkscape, and Irfanview for some quick utility tasks.

I use Photoshop CS6 only. I don't really need other programs but CS6 to make my designs. Easy navigation, customizable, and does the job for me. Really great program.

I use Photoshop, and I would never use another software for graphic design, because it set's the standard for the industry, and it's what all the top graphic designers use.

For graphics design, Photoshop, hands-down. I really hope free alternatives rise up and take its place though, this whole nasty business about pay-per-month for Photoshop sucks.

    For webdesign, Sublime Text 2.

I am not a professional designer. So I dont use much. But yes, as a coder I keep getting orders to slice up the Graphics created by other designers. As such, I have to have a working knowledge of both GIMP and Photoshop. I have a trial version of Photoshop CS3 which I keep installing and uninstalling as and when I get some need to use it. For GIMP, it works good as it is freeware.

For all my coding, I use the Aptana which is freeware. The Adobe suite is great but so is the price. I cannot afford a licensed version and I dread using pirated versions.

I'm not a graphics designer but for my designs I use mostly Inkscape and a the GIMP. The best part is that I can use both software on Linux and Windows. And if I had a Mac I could use them there too.

I'm not a proper designer either, I just make my own sites logos and themes.

I primarily use Macromedia Flash and ok I'll admit to using Paint once in a while purely to do a quick lasso or fix :)

Flash really isn't something people should be using nowadays.

I use Photoshop, although I have GIMP, but photoshop just produces better results. I use photoshop for basically everything. GIMP just looks too complicated :p Maybe because I'm used to photoshop.

Same reason I use Photoshop: GIMP is cluttered and Photoshop does a lot of things better.

Yeah, like on Photoshop, the layout of things are much clearer and the design of it looks quite professional.
But on Gimp, it just looks too complicated, don't like it just being plain white xD

While I have a copy of Photoshop CS5 I picked up for cheap on Amazon a couple years back 95% of the time I prefer Corel Paint Shop Pro. I've been using PSP for so long the first version I had was for DOS, not Windows. It was free at the time. It transitioned to paid software years ago. Does 95% as much as Photoshop at a fraction of the cost.

Exactly my problem. There's so much you can do with GIMP that matches what you can do with Photoshop, but I learned Photshop faster than I learned GIMP, because of the interface.
