I'm just curious of how many people are using the vbulletin cms included with the suite?
Or how many sites have you seen that have successfully incorporated the cms into the suite?

What would you do if there wasn't a cms, what script would you use or what do you use in replace of your cms?

Please post links of "good looking" vbulletin cms's :)

    Please Vote --- For SCIENCE!

I was using it for interviews and such. But not anymore, I moved them to the forum. I use the blogs feature that's apart of the CMS though.

Oh I guess I should of added the blog into the OP as well, it's also something I've never really been able to use effectively on my forums.

The blog has a lot better SEO - in terms of titles, meta description than the CMS does. I wish they added "tweet this" or "google+" this since it already has "Like this on facebook", I have a few blogs with a lot of facebook likes, so I guess I'm doing something right.

For my DJ board, I originally bought the suite but never got into using the CMS and maybe one or two of my members used the blog feature. When I moved back to vB I went with a forum only license no sense in having all that overhead, especially with the CMS running for no reason.

    Just the forum.

I tried using the blogs and no one used them for long time, and then spammers noticed it was a good place to spam. So I killed the blogs.

I looked at the CMS and played with it on my test setup but I found it confusing to use, so I continue to use vbadvanced which does everything I want.

Tried groups as well, but they never seemed to take off.

If you set up your permissions so that users can't post links in the blogs without 10 posts, you'll be fine.

I really like the idea of allowing users to have their own blogs. I have a script called vb journal back in the day before 3.5 came out and I've been a fan since.
I'm glad xenforo had an importer so we didn't lose the user blogs on my other forum.

I remember vb journal, was a huge hit on my site before vb finally released their own blogs.

So we now see the cms won't be ready on gold release. :(

Also subscriptions and the calendar, which some sites use both those heavily.

Bob must not be able to pay his mortgage or something, this is stupid! This also means we won't seeing anything worthwhile on vB 4 until they get done clowning around with 5's stages.

Looks like they're bungling it again.
