I rarely buy any domain names anymore. I use to buy a few domains a month, but now I only buy domains for sites that I'm developing.

How often do you register new domain names?

I bought about 100 over past 6 months. Some for development, some for flipping.

Holy shit! I thought I had a lot. May I ask you this, if you don't mind me asking. Do you buy a variation of domain names like plural, singular, different extensions, etc?

As for me, I just bought a few new ones. I usually wait for Namecheap's trivia contest before I purchase any new domain names for free. I literally just bought a domain name for $100 because I have an idea but the niche is small.

Not often, I usually tend to purchase domains when I have a very neat idea and/or a very neat domain name.

    Rarely compared to other people.

I have bought a couple in the last couple years. Before that, I had more, but I finally let some go because I realized I was buying too many and not actually using them. I wish I had more time to devote to new ideas!

Will reply in full later... however I acquire most domains if related to my existing and have them forward, or parked...

check on namepros, there is a thread about godaddy coupons for cheap $1 to $5 .com reg's.

Park it, and it will pay for self.

I have never gotten much out of parking. How do you make that work well for you? And what kind of cash do you make off it?

Usually one or two clicks a year covers the reg fee for some good keywords. I am not in business of domaining, however if I can pick up good domains that pay for self.... why not?

Developing the rest. =) at some point. lol.

I purchased my domain cpvr.net a few months ago. It was my first domain that was purchased in a few months. I don't have any plans for new projects, but my name domain might turn into a personal blog where I write about anything and everything that I'd like to. Not sure when this will happen though. I don't buy new domains often anymore.

But ya, I've stuck with the same domain name since 2004 with Virtualpetlist.com it is my oldest domain.

I bought a domain name every chance I could for new projects a few months ago, then I opened up a forum and bam, that took all the time I had from the projects. Right now I'm buying domains about once every three months, whether it's for projects for special occasions or shorter domains for my primary site.

I'm always looking for new domain names, normally look for stuff related to existing sites I have running.

Picked up another 10 or so in the past few weeks.

Part of the reasons you want to pick up more names, especially for your forum... have all of the tld's of your forum name, and also the plural or singular...

ie if you are www.xxxxforum.com, register www.xxxxforums.com too.

I own a very popular xxxxxxforums.com for my state, however some jackoff registered the singular version, and redirecting traffic to a political campaign opposite of what we do. So waiting for it to expire.

I've always only bought domains for sites I've developed, and that happens very rarely!

I only ever buy domains when I need them (I never used to buy them at all, but got into the habit now).

I use to always buy domains for potentials project I wanted to create but then I noticed myself never finishing projects so now I don't buy domain's no more. With my programming skills though, I could create a ton of content filled site's by leeching content from other site's to fill my sites up to generate money and page's on google or just for the sole purpose of flipping them. ::idea's are rolling in:: ::i better not:: ::smacks self::

There for a while, I was buying anywhere from 5-15 domains a week!!! Now I have got it down to one a week :) However, you need to know that I was getting the .com, .net and .org TLDs of each domain as well. But now my limit it 1 a week :P
