My wife finds all the forum stuff a mix of kind of funny, kind of interesting, and kind of silly. I spend very little time though on forums and kind of just use them as supplementary reading material if Google News isn't too interesting when I'm looking to unwind a bit. For those of you here who are much bigger in the forum community and running/administering forums, what does your spouse or significant other think of the time you spend on this stuff? Has it caused any issues?
My girlfriend knows that I run an online community, and she doesn't get mad at the time I spend online. When she wants to spend time, I shut off the laptop and spend time with her. It's nice that she works until 6 PM everyday and I have a lot of free time online. So, yes, she's supportive.
I'm single, actually. Maybe because I am a webmaster is the reason I am single? Who wants to date a nerd, haha. But I do have a bad boy side, I purposely get into the path of tornadoes... hehe, maybe that will help get me a girlfriend?! Probably have to wait until I complete my PhD and then get a big money making job, then I may have more requests...
My girl really doesn't know what it's all about. She's pretty much Facebook and Instant Messenger only but she likes the idea of dinners and gifts so shes okay with it. Now if only she'd let me work and stop talking to me on Yahoo once in a while. :p
Well, fortunately I am a web designer, so I have to be online. And he understood that it puts food on the table. While my sites are not killing me with the advertising revenue, they are a constant influx of web design work (they're some sort of a portfolio), so they're pulling their weight. He's also active in some forums (the niches he's interested in), so there's no problem with it
Girl? This is why I stay having fun in the single life. No one to tell me what to do and still have all the fun...minus the cuddling.
Um, it depended on the guy. Because I have always spent a lot of time online in general, then they were all used to that. None of them could complain or criticize or ask me to change it even. They wouldn't have known exactly how much was spent directly on my forums, though.
Are you sure you enjoy the single life by choice? I don't have a girlfriend, but she wouldn't be my girl if she couldn't deal with the hours I put into my forum, because my sites are going to be what pays the bills, and if she complains about that it's onto the next one.
If it's actually a money maker, then there is absolutely no reason to complain. It would be like fussing that you have a job. The only time it might be a problem is if you're insisting on putting in 15+ hour days, every single day of the week, and neglect her.
I rarely have that problem with my girlfriend. We're not bossy to one another. The cuddling and watching movies late night is one of the best feelings in the world. That, and actually having someone there to talk to. I'll leave this song here since it fits. Single life was fun for me before but it does get boring.
Didn't say you were. Just added the video to add more substance to the thread. Cheers to partying hard! That's something we both like, eh?
No, I just said I was single. I have a few slampieces. I am not a huge fan of cuddling unless it turns into sexy time.
Lmao. I'm the same way. I prefer sex over cuddling. But, its all good with my girlfriend though. We do both. I used to hate when chicks told me "I just want to cuddle" in my mind, I'm thinking "Nah, she wants to have sex, that's just the code she's using."
That is why I do it. Cuddling is just a mess. Hair in your face. Your body temperature hotter than the sun. You have that hard on that you're trying to hide so she is happy that you just don't want straight to sex. Your body parts going numb. Her head in your face so you can't see. Unless I can undress her eventually...pass.
