Seems like these days a lot of so called ''companies'' are offering their services to get your site on first page of Google for a specific keyword. I haven't used those sites, but I know they tend to ask a lot of money for their service. After all, I guess that's the way it should be if they really can put your site on top of page one of Google.

So, I have to wonder if these sites really deliver such results, even when that can take them months. Do they really work? Can I trust a site like that to get my site on page one of Google?

Please let me know what you think.

You really have to look closely into the tactics that they're using. When they explain to you the strategy, they can all sound very similar to one another. Yes, the goal is to rank for specific keywords, and raise your organic search traffic, but how will they accomplish that is the key. In the SEO agency world you can find anywhere between very reputable upstanding businesses who provide high value for the dollar, to complete scams who will deliver you nothing but an empty wallet.

    Yes, this is true.

If the SEO company didn't rank their site at #x, then it's a dead giveaway that they don't have what it takes. They're full of $#!^ about their SEO.

For example, this company has a track record of ranking their site at #4 for a PS3 site (do not go there, it's now redirected to someplace ugly; that is, if you don't have antivirus enabled. It sounds like someone bought it and then run it down). Now they started up a new company that develops a CMS for the general gaming public.

Something that I find interesting is the fact that some of these companies are offering their services for free until you start to see results. Some of them even offer their services for free until you get on page one of Google. What do you guys think of this? They seem to be pretty confident about their skills.
