I recently ran across this ebook. They show you how to get a decent amount of members on your forum in a short period of time, with no investment.

They firmly state that they got 400 members in 7 days. I'm not guaranteeing that number, but it does give you some great tips and sites to help you boost popularity. The number of members you will get varies on the site you are promoting, how well you promote it using their methods, and a few other things.

It should be a good read for forum owners though.

It lets you download it, so it doesn't look like it. I scanned it, and it isn't much use for me.

It's attached to our forum ;)

The first line says something like "Since you've paid for this, let's show you what you got"

is why I asked... and I've noticed @TheCause seems to just copy and past content from other sites :(

Not really what we're after here ;)

But are they QUALITY members who will actually post? Yeah, that's highly doubtful. If all you're after is the numbers, then sure, it's not that hard to get that many people to sign up in a short amount of time.

It's sort of a paid ebook. I am staff at another forum, where we have a shop that you can buy stuff with the points you earn. I got this from the shop.
I try and post good stuff that people can benefit from. I hear what you're saying though, I feel ya man. Sorry about that. I'll start keeping it real

If I owned an admin forum, I wouldn't allow this. This thread would be deleted.
Keep that in mind. If the owner of the other forum tells you to take it down, do it. I don't have to tell you this, but I'm doing it.

Best method: have some good content, update it daily, set your site apart from others. Rinse and repeat :)
