I know there is some kind of limit on amount of posts to send PM's. I do it on my sites to stop PM spam so I figure you do the same here.

What I want to know is what is set at?

It seems to be extremely high since I have over 50 posts now and still can't use the PM system. I understand being restrictive and all, but anything higher than 20 or 25 is a bit much. I have mine set at 15 and to date I've yet to have a report of PM spam since I put it in place.

Anyway I have no urge to PM anyone I'm just curious.

Hm I'd also like to know this. Just in case we have to get in touch with you, Brandon. We can't do that unless we reached the quota which we are unsure of where it's set at?

AFAIK it should be 25 post, one like and been here one week to go to the "active group" which allows more otpions.
I see you can add sig links, you should be able to PM
I'll check over the usergroup settings though, I may of missed a setting.

Can't PM anyone. I just received a PM and there isn't even an option for me to send a reply.

I see what's going on now, I've fixed your account @AWS but I need to fix a few of the other members as well.

I'll reply here once I think I have everyone.

    Thanks for bringing this up

you shouldn't have any signature restrictions outside the general rules

also can you send pm's now?

I think the block is when I prevent new members from using the PM system, but the active group should of allowed it.

For the record, I was able to send a PM just fine after reading this thread earlier today. Had no problems so not sure where the permissions are being whacked out of place or whatnot. Unless the members who aren't allowed to send PMs are part of a secondary group who can't send PM's and thus inheriting the inability to PM members? Not sure what the issue could be though...

ah thanks for confirming that as well :)
I think it may of been a secondary setting

Guess we'll let this go and if someone has PC issues, we'll check the settings from there.

Yup it's usually either a PEBKAC or the site admin's fault! We are all human and make mistakes, however when you are the admin of a website THERE ARE NO MISTAKES! :P You make a mistake and BAM, you're finished! :P
