I just happen to stop by Admin addict and seen it's been purchased by Bob Schwartz ( @AWS ) and he's converted it over to IPB.
I like this style better then when AdminExtra converted to IPB.
I'm not really an IPB fan, I hope he can turn that site around.
I had talked with Nick about buying AA and merging it here, I was a little short on funds with it being the end of the year, so I missed out. :(

Good luck Bob, if anyone can bring life back in that site, you are the guy!

I have no idea what was paid for it, I know what I was offered so I have an idea but it's not my place to post such info.
I hope Bob got a good deal though since the sites been a little dead lately.

Ya, its been real dead. It used to be one of the most active forums on the net. Nick was a good owner, he probably lost the motivation to continue on with the forum. Things like that happen all the time though.

    Thanks Brandon.

I had my eye on it for a while. I really didn't have time for another forum so I really didn't pursue it. Then I sold 3 of sites in a package deal and consolidated 3 more which freed up a bunch of time. I made Nick an offer, he countered and I bought it. Nick was great to work with during the change. Can't say enough good about him.

I have some plans to get things going. First thing I need to do is get a new staff in place. I plan on bringing over a couple of my staff members from Computer Help Forums and looking within the site for others.

I still have a lot to do to organize it. Seems though the years everything new was just thrown together. Nick told that was the case. Once I get the articles organized into IP.Content and move some forum around I'll get to new features.

I don't expect things to change overnight, but, some of the stuff they used to do will start again. Community of the month for one.

I'm in this one for the long haul and it's my main focus right now.

I'm just happy to have some life in this IPB section :p
I do like how AA looks right now, is that a free skin, paid or custom?
I just really have a hard time enjoying myself on an IPB forums :(
    I don't know why.. I'm guessing it's several reasons.
I LOVE Ip.Content though.. really wish vBulletin had something like it that worked as good as IPB's script does.
I also dig the admin search, so glad xenForo has something similar.

The style is the IPB default style. Looks a good site, will join up later.

That's great bro. I was an active member of AA in the past. I hope you can breathe a lot of life into the community, it really needs it. There's a ton of content there so I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be so hard to get the ball rolling again there. The skin is real nice as well. Nice work. ;) I wish you best of luck with AA.

I think it was updated with 3.2, could be wrong though.

I am a member of that site. Surprised to see it acquired. :)

The thing that turned me away from staying there would be the intrusive spyware that brings up popups. I had to clean my computer completely to continue browsing.

Wow, yeah looks a lot better. I still had it on my list of bookmarks, but rarely checked as it was dead for quite some time.

It's the default IPB style. It was added when 3.2 was released.

I have a new style uploaded and I'll turn it on as default as soon as I get the other apps installed.

Carlos I find it hard to believe that AA gave you spyware. I've been going there daily almost since it opened and never once got any spyware or even a popup for that matter.

The last time I went there, I saw a popup asking me to download something, while on AAddict's old vb3 site.

After that, I was afraid of going there again... Even though I have some sales threads I need to check.

It may of been an advertiser that slipped by which was in place. I know Nick wouldn't of allowed that on purpose.

Ya, I never got that error either and I have a spyware program always running and checking for spyware.

Site down for anyone else? I wanted to stop in and see if things were starting to pick back up again.
