I try to welcome every new member on both my forums and I see our staff do the same. Do you welcome new members on your forum, if not, why don't you?

I welcome all new members to my community - I even ask them a few questions - that way they feel even more welcomed.

My team and I strive to welcome every member that joins. It can get difficult when we have a lot of people joining, but we manage.

Normally welcome all new members, hard to do when there aren't any new ones though.,

Do you guys also ask the new users any questions? It helps with the building of content, and getting to know the new member. It makes them feel even more welcome[I'd say].

I try to welcome every person who posts an introduction thread. If I say anything more than welcome largely depends on what they say in their introduction... if someone just says hi, I just say hi back; if they ask a question or have a specific comment, I might respond to that as well.

Good point about just saying hi or really trying to give them a warm welcome.

I do the same as you, if they give a short intro, I'll give a short reply. If they give a good intro and tell everyone a little about themselves, some hobbies and interest, I'm more likely to give a warmer welcome and try to "connect" with them & make them feel welcome.

It's a good way to build content on the community, too, and makes users come back. I've been doing this same thing for years and it always works.

    Is that an automated PM?
Did you customize it at all?

I always welcome new members as I think it is nice to do
It lets them now staff want them there

I hate it when a admin or staff don`t welcome me on their forum, I feel as I am not wanted
