    I just saw something useful on net and I like to share it.
    Remember I am not the creater I am sharer lol:P
    .I thought we could have a thread where we gather together ideas on how to get traffic on your forum. This is very basic ideas. You can share your ideas too.

    Here are some of my ideas;

    * Launch email list
    Gather large lists of emails. Create a good email telling us about your board.

    * Search Engines
    You need to get all your threads indexed, and a high ranking to increase new traffic. This will also put you in a strong position against competing forums.

    * Twitter
    You may send your RSS feed to Twitter.

    * Facebook
    Create a facebook fan page. Treat everyone like your friend.

    * Yahoo Answers
    Respond to questions at Yahoo Answers. This is actually an epic methode, tbh.

    * Comment on blogs
    Make comments on related blogs with a link back.

    * Forum posting
    While posting on other forums, make sure that you have your forum in your signature. DON'T be a fluff poster or a profile spammer.

    * Advertise
    Use Google ads, or even Facebook.

    * Forum Directories
    You may get some traffic from forum directories.

    * Youtube
    Set up a youtube channel.

    * Offline promotion
    It’s time to think outside the box. Most of the promotion we do to our forum is purely online.

    1) The easiest method of promoting is actually telling people that you have a forum.

    2) Try advertising in your local newspaper. Getting advertisement spots is really easy but sometimes can be a bit expensive

    3) On a Local Radio Show (In the rush hours, of course).

    4) Create a few hundred business cards and ask for them to be put up in related shops.

    5) Create your own branded T-shirts and hats and wear them about. Have your URL clearly visible on the front and back.
    Do you have any more methods of promoting you forum out with the internet? Do you think it’s possible to promote effectively without the internet?
    * Facebook Advertisement
    You can pay for some advertisement on Facebook.

    There are many strategies that can be used to get traffic to a forum

    Important: Remember to have the content first!

    The way to use yahoo answers is through Fiver. They have plenty people who will answer questions for 5 dollars untill they get the best answer which they can slap your link into or what not. It is great for a site. I even have a couple people I use for this.

    I swear by this guy for this service. I have used him many times and he is by far a great assest to me when I need something done involving yahoo answers. But, yeah this is a must have tool in your admin toolbox in my opinion

    Ya, my account got to that level as well. It lasted two days posting links. I guess I was answering too many a day or something.
