If anyone here has a phpBB forum, how many mods do you have on it?

When I had one I had close to Terrorz amount. But PHPBB just gets boring with all the coding.

I agree. You moved onto MyBB which is a good free forum software.

SMF hasn't given me too much trouble but there were some modifications I had to make. It has some nice features.

My first was phpBB, second vB, then IPB, then MyBB, then xenForo.

Thats just the order in which I tried it, but I used vB 3 times, and phpBB twice, and MyBB 4 times, and xenForo finally, and going to stick with it because it meeds all of my needs.

I'm on the latest release of 1.1.x but the 2.0 is still in beta sounds like. The added enhancements don't seem to be in the 2.0 but they make you work a little for those anyway.

It's been three years. Yes, you don't have to rush, but three years makes me think that they're lazy or do nothing within the project.

Well, the staff (and the original lead developer) left cause the financial manager went all Axl Rose on them.

PHPBB I find bulky, with mybb you can edit things more easilly, its like vbulletin but admincp and more easier.

I had like 5 mods installed when I was on phpBB. I was really scared to install mods because every mod can get your forum to not work of something goes wrong. I had that happen to me a lot.

I just had the mod for a sitemap, I think I may have had an SEO mod but I remember manually doing SEO for the title tags, and the only other one I remember was the automatic image resizer.

The Hazey has near to 50 mods, a lot of custom one offs but our admin has been using phpBB since version one, which was 10 years ago and as the knowledge to fix anything if there is an issues. You only have to look at his phpBB service to know he is a guru at installing phpBB mods.
