So I see alot of people have already started adding the button to their forums and sites, do you have it on yours, and whats your thoughts on it? There seems to be a good amount of mixed reviews on it.

    What's the point in it?

This is the first time I have seen this to be honest, but from the look of it, it does look like it will be a good addition to a forum :) may have to add this into my forum see how it all goes.

I don't think it's worth the extra JavaScript to load it to be honest.
I may consider adding it next to my Twitter and StumbleUpon buttons under a thread, but has anybody seen a rise in their traffic after using the button?

Yea that's the only problem I have with it is that it slows down your site with an extra load.. still deciding whether to add it or not.

At the moment, I don't see the point of it. The tweet button shows how many people have tweeted it, the like button shows how many like it on facebook...where does the google +1 show, is that where it's supposed to show on the search results???

It does show how many people have clicked it: http://www.google.com/webmasters/+1/button/index.html
But the FAQ isn't real clear about how it affects rankings, from what I got from it it seemed to say it would only affect search results for those in your contact list.

well the system just seems silly to me, it has a lot of competition with facebook & twitter because that at least shows that you recommend the content somewhere e.g. twitter feed, facebook profile, etc.

Shows up on your Google Profile at profiles.google.com, under +1's. Not fairly obvious, but it still shows up there.

Found out I could put the JS in the bottom of the page, so maybe I'll give it a shot.

I have decided not to use it because over at xenforo they have mentioned it will come shipped with the next release. But it will come disabled because it's not stable.

If it's not stable, then it's on Google's end, because the code they give you to put in is so simple.

I haven't implemented it yet, but I plan to. I guess it's similar to StumbleUpon, with users recommending results, but for Google.

Merged Post: Ok, I just installed the button, and the darn script takes like 2-3 seconds to load. That makes this so not worth it.
Google needs to optimize their code and provide an asynchronous solution in my opinion.

Sorry for the double post btw

Honestly, I was also looking into this but I see no purpose. I just google AdminBB; an offline user won't see the +1 icon and an online user will see the icon but grayed out with the same value and yes I clicked and added the point.. Now if perhaps someone can google it and do the same method we should see a change on the +1.

I believe it is for google results and not for the end user.

You didn't mention a time, you just said it adds an extra load, which I wouldn't mind if it was asynchronous ;)

Was thinking about adding to my site, but if it adds 2-3 seconds to the loading time it is not worth it.
