I am thinking of letting GamingIsland rest while I make something unique, probably a forum?

any tips or anything I have not opened one in a long time.

Well you enjoy graphics, why not start a graphics forum with free services?

Then maybe a tech/gaming forum would do? What do you want to do? It's what matters the most.

I'd say start a forum on a topic you can talk about all day. You can't allow your forum to go dormant. That requires (in most cases) an active admin and staff for the startup period.

I tell you what would make a great forum (imho) is a forum admin forum that is targeted at new forum owners like myself. Yes there are tons of admin forums out there, with lots of info, but nothing exists for newbs. At least that I have found. In fact a lot of them are actually very unfriendly towards newb questions. I think a niche forum like this could do very well.

Let me know if you do, I just might be your best customer. ;)

I'm not sure what you mean by that? This admin forum has articles that pertain to new forum owners and I'm 100% sure the tips in those articles can help you succeed in running an online community. If you have any questions regarding running forums, then why not post a topic with these questions and perhaps the fellow admins here can help you? If you don't ask you'll never receive answers. ;)

You're absolutely right of course. I didn't mean to offend or disrespect you and your forum here. I was in a bad mood at the time, and feeling very frustrated by the learning curve involved with being a newbie forum admin.

Your site is great and has lots of good content for beginners and vets alike.
