Do you guys have a Likes or Tweet button on your website allowing your members and visitors to like something or tweet something? Here on AdminBB we do have both as it comes by default in XenForo.

Its a great way for members to share content on your website that they like. I use them myself, specifically the tweet button to share interesting threads on AdminBB's Twitter account.

Well it was getting complicated getting XFBML working so I could do what I wanted with my Recommend button, I like how Twitter only has one simple code to insert and that's it.
Twitter has exponentially increased my traffic over the past few months as I post articles and guides get written. There's always 20-50 users online each time something gets out on Twitter.

Yea embedding the twitter button is very simple. And most of the users that come from twitter are bots by the way.

I think they are very good, I just wish they would'nt send so many bots when you use them...

Its not always a bad thing, it helps with traffic. And what I do hate is when you add these buttons it makes your pages longer to load, specifically the facebook likes button which I removed.

Yeah it seems a bit faster, though if the button was in the footer and the XFBML was the asynchronous one there should not have been any effect at all.

Why don't you like the bots? It increases your "users online" count which makes the board look more active :P

I have a Facebook Like button below each of my topics along with the standard IPB share buttons. Some of my threads have a few tweets and likes but they aren't used that much.

Does anyone have Google's +1 button? I have a Buzz button, I'm not sure how they differ though... lol

I have seen some forums and websites using Google's +1 button, I dont have a problem with it, but I wouldn't add it unless xenforo decides to add it in along with the other share buttons. And I hope it doesnt affect page load that much.

Well at the moment I'm pretty mad at Google for copying Facebook and Twitter yet again, so I don't think I'll add it unless it really helps with page rank or other special things to promote my site in Google Search.

Why I don't like these bots: Because it...
    1. produces what I consider "fake" guest results, I would'nt mind if I could catch them all and get them listed into the bots page, but it seems every time I add them, they send another different set so I keep missing them
    2. they tend to upset the server load sometimes because they are sending so many bots all at once

I agree with number 2, I have had that problem before.. not very fun. As I have said I dont have problems with the bots, but I just dont understand why they send so many. One is enough for one tweet/like.

Yeah I wonder about that too. Maybe they're language bots?

Why would they be language bots lol? I doubt that.

Why would you have to code it, facebook has it on their site for you to integrate into yours.

Problem is if he wants the advanced options he has to put some code in the header, then configure it, and then put some code where he wants the button to appear. It's not all that simple and that's why I don't have one on my site. I want to use the XFBML code because of performance reasons but it's a lot to configure. And truthfully I find the help docs confusing.
