Well, ever since I found out about Project Wonderful, I've signed up and I have a few ads around my site.
I really like the idea behind it, and the fact that you can set your own minimum bid on your ad spaces, however revenue generating has been much slower than, say, Google AdSense (which I was banned from due to a malicious member clicking too many times).

I've just started getting ads, which may be due to having to get some traffic on them first, but I've only got two pennies so far :( Maybe it's too early to judge.
    What's your opinion?

It sounds all right but none of those sites really earn you much, the only one that does is Google Adsense.

There are hundreds of ways to monetize a forum or blog. And, Project Wonderful is just one of those ways. I have successfully used Adbrite interstitial pages to create a nice little income for one of my sites. It pays way more than the Adbrite clickthroughs on ads. As for selling ad space on a site, you might be better off selling the ad space yourself rather than relying on such a middleman who will only give you pennies for your space.

Look around your forum or site and pick out the plum spots and then put up a whole page devoted to selling the advertising in those spots. Don't be shy about offering the space for rent either. If you don't advertise that there is space for rent on your site for banners, ads, etc, then how will others know?

Check out other forums to see what they charge and how they go about getting advertisers.

Most importantly, work on getting the traffic up for your site however you have to do it.

Thanks for the ideas. I'll look into it :)
I wonder what a good price would be per month for buttons in the header of my site.

I know people bid on sites that have good traffic, and can help their website through Project wonderful - so you're earning pennies? Why don't you try to run adbrite, or something? If you stayed in contact with Adsense, you shouldn't have been banned from that particular reason.

Problem with AdSense is that they haven't responded to our messages.

AdBrite asks for too much personal data, when I look for an ad provider nowadays I look for something that doesn't ask for such things as street address, SSN, and can pay via PayPal. Otherwise they're not worth my time.

Well sometimes its worth it as they pay the best, and they take your personal data which is just to be sure you are not lying in your information and that they are paying the right person. But I agree its not fun giving out personal details such as your SSN.

Yeah, and cashing checks isn't too easy for me, and the $100 minimal withdrawal was going to take forever.
I've been making some more money with Project Wonderful lately, ditched Chitika, and I think things are improving :) I increased my minimum bids and put an ad in the threads as well.
