I remember when I converted my MyBB forum to vBulletin. Thats the only time I have converted from one software to another. Have you ever converted from one forum software to another?

Before AdminBB the forum I had was a gaming forum, and I originally started it on phpbb, but before even launching I decided to convert to MyBB. Thats the only time I had ever converted from one software to another.

I converted my community from SMF to vBulletin 4 like two months ago. I just didn't enjoy the way SMF was. I'm so used to using vBulletin.

I have done it a few times really. My current community started out with phpBB, to which we converted to vBulletin, then XenForo, and now we're possibly looking to move to Invision 3.2 once it comes out. Which I have been strongly looking forward to and keeping a very close eye on the development.

In the past I have also used on some other communities SFM, but I've never been able to convert that software over to anything else with success.

Wow that's alot of conversions lol. I like IPB 3.2, its very nice but I still prefer XenForo over IPB. But who knows that may change over time.

Generally speaking, v5 of our community will most likely be converting over to Invision 3.2
I like XenForo, but at this time; they do not completely fill our needs. We only moved away from vBulletin because of all the issues and even security flaws it has.

My current forum was actually converted from vBulletin to xenForo it was the smoothest transfer ever.
I've done transfers before and none have ever gone as smoothly as the xenForo transfer script.
I suppose I'm just a xenForo fanboy now though so my opinions pretty biased.

All purchases are a risk. I'll give them a few weeks before I buy into it. Not going to just jump in right away. 250- for the forum, blogs, and maybe other add-ons is a lot of money to be spending.

I guess we would stick to XenForo and maybe even buy a new theme (I'm liking this one)... But it does not fulfill the needs of all my members and I had hoped development would progress a little quicker or that the final version would have a little more.

We really do need that "all-in-one" suite.

I try not to be bias but I cant help it at times :P
Yea it does lack some features that I need very much, but it makes up for it with other great ones. I would expect them to be a little bit faster with the development as well. The features I need is the infactions system, and the Thread prefixes which is planned for 1.1, but it should have already been included. And im sure it will take a while for 1.1 to arrive.

I think this is a list of what I have done (may be incomplete). One line refers to the conversion history of a forum.

    SMF 1.1 > MyBB 1.2 > IPB 2.2/2.3 > vBulletin 3.7 (closed afterwards because the license expired)
SMF 1.1 > MyBB 1.4 (still a MyBB 1.4 as of right now, no longer owned by me)
vBulletin 3.6 > IPB 2.3 (for someone else I knew)
ZetaBoards and Forumer > phpBB 2 > MyBB 1.6 (this was Dashing)
    ZetaBoards > phpBB 2 > phpBB 3 > IPB 3.0
    IPB 3 > vBulletin 4 > MyBB 1.6 (merged into Dashing via. a vBulletin 4 gateway converter)

I still have yet to use a converter AND use URL redirection. Maybe someday I will be able to. I'm anticipating doing a phpBB 3 or an IPB 2.1 conversion to MyBB very soon.

How well did the Dashing conversion go from ZB?

After I got around the script, it went pretty smoothly, actually. Besides, it was good for Dashing to move into self-hosting (and eventually, me hosting it).

Ya, everything went fine. Just user passwords weren't transfered, but we had everyone reset them. Our users loved the move too, and activity went up as well. They love all the features that we have for them. SMF wasn't enough for us XD

Good to know, SMF is headed nowhere, by seeing how slow the development is. Its best for everyone on SMF to switch unless things get back on track.

Need them to progress within suite ... ie... Blogs, portal, photo albums... The 3rd party add-ons are OK, but they too seem to be lacking. I could turn to bridge some of those, but I'd rather not continue to "custom" to far beyond the core and also run the issues of bridging stuff.

Ya, the development was too slow for my liking. I only used it temporary to get my community off the ground, had to get a sponsor for my vBulletin 4 publishing suit though.

Yea I doubt they will make a suite as they mentioned in the past their focus is just releasing a forum and not branching into a suite. I use the blogs add-on here on AdminBB, its okay but its not what I want..
