Do you delete accounts when a member has some type of controversy on the forum and then wants to have their account deleted?

Nope, I ban the account and leave it like that. We're forum owners, nobody forced them to join - and if they cause controversy, you ban their other accounts as well. We don't have to delete member's accounts if we don't feel like it.

I agree, I prefer a ban over a delete as well. And they never leave by the way, they always try to comeback. They like drama.

Ya, and users that like to start drama shouldn't be apart of the community to begin with.

I've never had this happen but I would ban the account not delete it. I agree with cprv.

I have had this happen to me in the past and I just banned the member from creating further drama. I hate when they do that.

I would ban them as well. No sense in deleting them as any posts they might have made still count.

Ban and deactivate the account, pointless it being left listed in the members list if they have just been trouble...

Some people just love to stir drama on any community that they go to - don't you know drama = pageviews = replies, but not all drama is good.

Yea I agree, its very annoying. And they never completely leave... they just enjoy the drama, but when you ban them they get all pissed.

Why would you want problematic members like that back to your forum?

Problematic users should never be allowed back on your community. If they start trouble once, who said they won't do it again? Sometimes mistakes happen, but I believe a banned member should always remain banned. What do you think?

I usually just leave it alone, as if they want to create drama, by creating havoc of having their account/posts removed, I don't give them the satisfaction as it takes too much time to sort out the mess, etc.

Yea I agree with you, banned people should stay banned. And to be on topic, I would never delete an account. I would just ban it.

Never. I will either try to work it out with them, but most likely I will ban them as I dont need members like that on my forum.
