Over my years as a forumer I have been apart of many communities, and I have noticed there is always a person or a group of people who are never satisfied with anything at all. They are just never happy with anything.. whenever there are new changes, or new features added, or something is removed they always have something to complain about whether it's legitimate or not. They seem to enjoy it and probably most of the time they do it to put the forum down and make it seem/look bad.

And its funny because these members actually never leave, they always stick around and post throughout the forums. How do you deal with members like this on your forum? And how do you deal with them on other forums?

I've never had one of these members on my forums, but saw one before. This forum did a massive update pleasing 99% of all members, but just this one person had a massive rant about them not liking it and calling the forum awful. Yet, they're still posting.

Kaiser AdminBB is horrible LOL, No I love you really

I hate these types of members and there is always 3/4 people, then turns to 60/80 members and soon an inactive forum, so they can ruin your forum because of there ranting and make others believe it is aswell.

Yea it gets very annoying and if it does get to a high number of people its is enough to kill a forum.. as people would start joining in, and might believe them and may soon leave. etc.

I've seen members like this, and they are extremely annoying, and the only way to get them to shut up is to basically not feed the troll and to just reply to the topic and lock it, etc.

I know I've done it here in the past, but that is because I beleive in a "If it ain't broke, DON'T fix it!" approach, so don't see the need in some changes, etc.

Ignore them. That's what I do.
    Always worked a charm.

Yea, effectively they are like trolls, and if you don't feed them, they will just get bored and go away

I had a member like this at GamerBB. :P He was from Forum Promotion but I won't mention his name even though I don't care for the guy. I guess he was more of a troll towards me actually. He out down myself and GamerBB but was fine with the rest of the community.

I would just ignore them and keep locking their topics till they get fed up with creating topics about the negative feedback.

Yea ignoring them is the best thing to do but it doesn't always work though.

When members aren't satisfied, and your other members are, then ignore them, and keep pushing for forward. "You can't please everybody", and the same holds true to online forums, websites, etc

Very true carlos, always gotta move forward and cant let the small things bring you down. Everyone will come across members like this but it is best to avoid them.
