Most forums always use red as an admins name color? Why do you think this is? Do you use the color red for admin?

I don't think I've came across many forums what haven't.

Yea I use it, and the reason I would think is because the color red shows some type of an "imporance" just as a stop sign, and a red light uses it. I have seens forums using different colors but yea red is the most common.

I think since red is such a bold color it shows that its the strongest. But i think admins should have a color which they will be known for and is easily known as a admin group.

Yea it does display a type of boldness, and the importance of the usergroup.

Its the one thing that makes the admin different from the user in a post is his username color and his quality post :D

I use the color red as well - its my favorite color and fits my admins and I well. Red = authority in my book.

I never knew that red was the dominant colour for admins, lol It's in use for the directors at PH and then slowly goes through the colour scale to the lower ranks

I've also noticed that admins are always red, and moderators are usually orange too :P. Personally I would use those colours too because they fit the roles well.

I prefer orange too. It looks kindalike a lighter shade of red so its approriate for a lower rank than admin.

I think green is probably more dominant, due to the default global moderator colour being green on phpBB3.

This is our admin usergroup color: Kurt
I usually think of red as a "stop sign" as Kaiser said, but not in a good way (see my post in the "ever been hated on" thread), and the orange/gold is a complementary color to the blue and gray theme.

I know and I only said that because you mentioned Green for moderators within the thread:

    Anyway, back on topic

I do see a lot of red admin groups. Instead for my new forum I wanted to be different and be Blue. It is also my favorite color and it stands out.

Yea red is the first eye catching colour draws attention to it right away so I think it's by far the best colour for an admin group as your users know right away that you're different from the other standard members.
