Haha yea I remember being frustrated by that as a few extra services were automatically checked so I was almost going to buy it when I didn't need it.

Namecheap is my choice, I just got to use to it and I never get confuse on that over GoDaddy.
Namecheap offers many than GoDaddy in my opinion.

I may transfer Adminbb.org over to namecheap because of the cheap whois other than that I have no problems with Godaddy.

It probably would'nt, but namecheap gives it free for a year, also when I transferred, I got an extra years registration (so basically the transfer fee), so rather than my domains expiring this year, they now expire next year!

Dunno, maybe 72 hours, depending on how long the EEP code & transfer goes, and I think nameservers transfer too, so you might be lucky and get no downtime at all, that is unless your using loads of features from GoDaddy, etc.

Well I have my nameservers set to custom AdminBB ones with the IP pointing to the name servers of the orginal from the host.
    Custom:
    ns1.admin-talk.com
    ns2.admin-talk.com

Hmm, probably would have to set that all up manually, but either way if you do it quickly, and IPs, etc. have not changed, then in theory, there should not be any downtime at all, only when you've got to change nameservers and the IPs, etc.

Ive literally emailed godaddy to tell them to stop sending me physical mail with their promotions. Ive also changed the settings to where they shouldnt email me promotions either...yet...they still send me both ><

Namecheap is the best. Godaddy takes forever to register. They do offer more domain extensions but I disagree with the way they handle things. For example they can just suspend your domain and not let you use it, or they can even take it from you. Namecheap states that the only way they will ever suspend your domain is if there is a court order to.

Yeah I have just one of my domains on GoDaddy because they had a special offer where it was like $2 for a .com. I'll be switching it over soon though.

The only thing that Im worried about is the downtime when transferring over as the domain may be unavailable, I cant have AdminBB down for 2 days.. 2 days is enough to make a forum inactive.

That's true. Well I think at this age of technology it should be relatively easy to not have any downtime when transferring registars but maybe not.
