There are many meanings and definitions of the word Troll, what do you call a troll and/or define trolling? Here is wikipedia's definition:
Honestly, I've never known what a troll is. I've read the Wikipedia definition in the past but when I saw somebody called another user a troll that definition didn't apply. I've seen people be called a troll because they never post and but log into a forum nearly everyday and just read post. Is the Wikipedia definition correct?
Yes it yes. While there are many definitions, the main one I would say is: Someone that creates drama, and starts problems for no given reason, and like to create controversy. Here an example of trolling: "Flux you suck at making forums, wtf is wrong with you. Go away" They are very random at times.
Haha and I dont know what gives them their energy, like really get a life and do something with it lol.
Someone who loves constant drama and makes it hard for other members to enjoy. I have come across many trolls in my long time foruming.
This, and plus, trollers love to run to an online community, or spark things that cause drama. One bad seed can attract more.
Well yea of course, just mentioning it can happen. Trolls are a forum's worst enemy.. can create major problems. And yea its the staffs job to hand it.
My definition is any who whats to cause chaos in the forum. I am sure you know because you use XenForo. My forum has a nasty way to make them go away!
Anybody who puts other users down, posts beyond obnoxious content, spams, or just breaks rules for the fun of it is considered a troll on my forum. And trolls have a special place on my forum. I call it 'Banville'.
I agree to that, thats a good definition of a troll and we have that special place "Banville" here also, thats where we keep all the trolls chained and locked up
