Doesn't it annoy you when forum administrators fill up their forums with ads just about everywhere? I understand you have to make money so you can pay for hosting and domain bills but puting ads every single page, and just about everywhere wont do know good and instead keep members from visiting your site... which means no clicks. Its okay to have a few ads in certain places where it wont get in the way of things. The ones that most annoy me are the pop up ads, and the hyperlink ads. Should admins have so many ads on their forums?
I think the only ad positons acceptable may be a sidebar (either on the index or across the site), header, footer & under the first post of each topic to guests only should be enough. Any more than that, and it's just overkill
I agree, I have seen many forums, that are over-overkill lol. One forum had Pop Up ads, Hyperlink ads, 3 banners ads, google adsense ads etc. and more on it. It was the worst forum I have ever visited.
Not a fan at all of advertisements in your face, so to speak. In fact, just this morning, i removed all of my adsense on my site. Sometimes it just looks out of place.
Forums that are absolutely infested with ads are almost always empty general discussion forums run by kids and not worth joining anyway. For the other 10%, I wonder if pissing off so many visitors is actually earning them any money.
i have 1 google adsense ad in the header and one in the footer. its good enough to pay for my hosting and its not annoying
I presume Kaiser is making enough by selling his own "in-house" advertisements, therefore does not need to use any third party advertisements to make the money for the hosting, etc.
