My personal host of choice! Excellent support team, great themes, just awesome overall. Just. Plain. AWESOME.

Too bad it isn't really used too much.

 

Not a host, a free forum host, 2 very different things. But yes it is the best free forum host in my eyes. I love the themes.

Themes are great, I agree. So much variation, just so much to chose from!

 

Personally I'm not a lover of Zetaboards because they ripped out the email notification settings for in-line notifications so you don't know if you have a PM or not unless you actually go and visit the site every 5 mins, etc.

 

Haha wow, I think that is something very important, most probably dont even notice that the email notifications are not there.

 

Yea, I feel it is a must, although I expect it was removed to avoid too many emails being sent out from their servers. Not even their mass mailing system is the best either...

 

Maybe it's just me, but I HATE it when forums constantly send me emails for PM's. Because, I send/receive a large volume of emails everyday. My email inbox is always flooded with those kind of messages.

Yea that is also true. Anyways I still think they are good, just could use few improvements.

The biggest I would say is give their users subdomains.

 

Sub-Domains and putting back the email notifications would be a good start

 

I don't like the email notifications either. You could probably find a custom script that would allow that maybe, or is that not possible?

 

Nope Zetaboards dosent support that as you would need access to the server.

 

Email notifications as in mass emailing to all board members? You can do that in the Admin CP on Zetaboards.

And there can be a script for just about anything, I've seen a money script (with donation features) done for ZB without requiring a host. It's all done on the board and is very secure. Anything is possible, you just need the right coder.

 

not mass mail, PM, topic & forum notifications when you are subscribed to certain sections of forums/topics

 

I never got a PM about topic or forum notifications with zetabaords and I have been with them since October last year

The themes are great and easy to install and the support team are great to
I love using zetaboards

 

You can get PM notifications about topic subscriptions when you buy ZB Premium. You can get email notification of topic subscriptions without it (it's a free feature), I believe. Fiona, try it out on Affinity, it should work. (Before anyone says I'm advertising, she's already a member)

 

Its something that should be free, and they are trying to make a few out of a default feature on most forums. Anyways ZB is still nice.
