I have used all 3, and MyBB meets my needs the most. The best free forum software.

    I voted for smf :p
I have tried all 3 and to me SMF has the easiest ACP out of them all.Phpbb is just confusing and hard to learn.Mybb was good i just didn't like that members couldn't delete there accounts.I think that is a vital thing to have.

I have tried a lot of free forum softwares in the past and MyBB seemed a lot better overall. The AdminCP was pretty good and the styling was actually easy.

Agreed. MyBB's ACP is the easiest and simplest among the free forum software. Never was a fan of phpBB's ACP.

A big fan of MyBB posted this :D

In my thought, MyBB is my choice, like you all, you used of all that 3 software. I'm not a fan of ACP of the SMF, I much like phpBB prefer to SMF.

MyBB. It's like the best of both worlds; reasonably simply plug in system like SMF, with a reasonably good support community behind it like PhpBB. Plus it looks great and also made it possible to merge my two remotely-hosted forums together

I really like the MyBB merge system, its lets you merge as many copies of MyBB you want into one... thats always a plus when you buy other MyBB forums.

    rofl, nice find Ash.

Anyway, phpBB gets my vote hands down. Loads of good features and themes, and they're always improving.

I never really was a huge fan of SMF. I don't mind joining up with forums that use that software, but it's one of the ones that I actually feel iffy about. I like it from an admins standpoint because it's easy to use and understand, and I like it from a members' standpoint because it has a fairly decent layout, but the one major thing it lacks is decent themes. If SMF ever was popular to begin with, it was probably back before I started foruming and there probably wasn't that much of a choice for forum softwares like there is now.
