I'm thinking about using this and replacing the phpld link directory script the old owner had here..

I checked the demo, and it looks like the plugin has some SEO.

The listing display is also pretty good. It looks like it's got a lot of options available.

Problem is, it doesn't look like a real directory to me, like the old one did.

You don't think the screenshot looks like a real directory?
I like phpLD a lot, I've used it for years and have built a few directories, I know we can make a really nice setup with it. The thing I like about this is it's all tied to the user accounts and the forum, people can "like" listings even. :weluvxf:
I don't see a way to monetize this version though and that's a pretty big deal for me ATM..

Hey, silly, I just told you that the old directory looked like a real one! :P
    OoooOooH! We've got a programmer! ;)
Yes, tying accounts is a big plus! :)
    In what way, to monetize?

    lol.. fair enough

offering "featured" links is one way to monetize a directory
Those links are above all other listings on the page and can offer 3 or 4 addition "deep links" with that listing. :)

I'd rather make money through the directory vs covering the forums with ads.

You don't need to cover the forums with ads. Just one ad! :P
