As already pointed out..they're mockups. Chances are 5 will just be another money grab like 4 was, IMHO.

Unfortunetly if XF doesn't show some progress soon.. I may be going back to vB.

I'm sticking with xenforo for now, I'm still happy with what I have.
I remember how bloated, slow and resource intensive vb4 was for my other site, I don't want to have that happen again.
is it just me, or is the bbcode on that page broken?

It will be waste of time to dance around with that much mockup screens coming from vbulletin :) I once did mistake buying vb4.0 just falling for those screens mocks up they showed everyone . I wouldn't do it twice until the product is out in market and see some reviews atleast for 6months.

I like the style and modal options, it'll make it easier for admins to customize if it all works and looks as pretty as these mockups.

but I'm not holding my breath or even talking to clients about this until I see a live demo

Yes, I will use vBulletin 4-Ever! I'm used to it, accustomed to the ACP and I love all the mod's and hacks I have installed.

It would be wonderful if the official staff even acknowledged that vbulletin 5was real on vbulletin.com

I'm surprised they haven't mentioned it over there yet. Maybe they're waiting for the price to come out from the upper-admins?

At least they posted it on their facebook page so it's somewhat official... but still, why nothing on vb.com?
    maybe @eva2000 knows?

I just got confirmation that the people at forumcan can play with a live demo of vBulletin 5, but it needs some work.

A friend who is there said this about it.

    and this

There's video for sure. But you already kind-of know the design. It's pretty much the vanilla version of vBulletin 4, but surprisingly, with features that were long overdue for a commercial forum.

Now moderators are going to be highlighted in "vB5." Because their postbits are going to be distinguished from everyone else. I already saw some screenshots that weren't available on "vB5" thread via Brandon's thread. It's available on VBForum facebook.

To see what I meant here: http://www.capcom-unity.com/ask_cap...wer_Instead_of_a_Leader&post_num=16#517856277

See how that moderator is distinguished from other posters in that thread? That's in "vB5." I already saw some shots that show it. It's not just in your profile, it's in postbits.
Don't bother waiting. Half of the design looks pretty much like IPB. I already know how the CMS looks like, I already know how the forum display looks like.

In fact, the new version of vB looks like a busier version of IPB. Period.

I am quite curious now about Vbulletin for my new forum project.
I was originally going to use IPB or XF for the new project but since this is a completely new forum idea, new niche, and a fresh start
i may try with something i never tried before.

i am very impressed with these mock-ups. it does sorta look like IPB a bit from these images. Probably why I like it :P

I thought it looked a lot like Admin Addict, @AWS is running IPB over there and that style was the first thing I thought of when I saw the mockups.

Just wait until you see the default CMS, or forum pages. You will see that it's a busier version of IPB. It may look like AdminAddict in design of these mockups shown in this thread - but vBulletin had more to show at ForumCon. Ones you don't see on brochure in my thread.
