Nope, I retorted and you seem to be the one who is changing the focus of the question from your hatred of phpBB.

Your "retort" was not worth replying to.

It was YOUR question I answered.

    What was the point again?

You need to read post #15 and 27.

They hone in on the obvious flaws of the software.

Large massive gaps in updates like phpBB2 and phpBB3. I haven't heard or seen any large development recently either so nothing's changed with how they decide to maintain their software.

There is a lot of discussion about the next version at the development site, a lot of new stuff is on the way.

I have looked in the link you posted but it is a muddled thread page because there is no consolidated list of features being considered for phpBB4.

myBB however does have such a list HERE

Next version will be 3.2, you can see all the RFC's in the relevant forum.

The first forum software I worked with was phpBB but it was way too unwieldy and complicated. I'm surprised it's still going but you cant knock free so good luck to them

PhpBB was OK years ago. now it's outdated, so even SFM might be a better solution, no matter how much I actually hate SMF.

I do not dislike phpBB but it is just too out of date for the way web has developed.

I did used to use phpBB2, many moons ago now. I liked it because of how simple to set-up and use fast it was. A "real classic" in it's day! But then came SMF and MyBB later and phpBB3 has never really matched up to them since.

I use phpBB for two reasons. I like how it looks and I like viglink integration even it's not working right now for some reason. I don't like the admin panel because it's complited. Is there any forum options where is viglink?
