I'm not going to lie here, I have had problems with HawkHost, but it's not been their fault and have been more than happy to help me out thankfully.

My WHMCS installation has a few WHMCS modules that need the IonCube 4.x.x loaders installed and of course cPanel only supports IonCube 3.x.x and every so often they keep reverting back so I have to contact support and get escalated to the System Admin department to get this fixed and have to wait hours on end.

    *grumbles* darned timezones

HostGator. I was told by a few that it sucked, but I haven't had problems with them.

Well you are closer to their timezone where the sys admins are from, so you'd not have to wait so long if you needed escalating.

Then you must be one of those lucky people, but just beware when your site gets bigger and bigger, they may start to go trigger happy on you

Yea, HostGator will be perfectly fine for you if your site is small. Once it grows thats when the problem starts.

They may suspend your account, or disable certain features.

Well that will suck. Guess I better keep up with my backups and have another host lined up.
Really need to get my domain credentials from my friend as well. Thanks for the info.
